Get into the swim at Aquatica

The Aquatica Swim Academy program offers classes based on age and/or swim ability and is available from 6 months of age. Classes are available during morning and afternoon sessions Monday to Thursday and morning sessions on Fridays and Saturdays.

Baby Starfish – Intro To Swimming

Our Baby Starfish, is a recommended structured 4-week in the water program and is tailored for babies aged 3 to 7 months, it’s the prerequisite to our Growing Starfish level . This program is the perfect introduction for families new to parent/child classes or feeling a bit apprehensive to start formal lessons and makes it the comfortable start to the water adventures.

In this program we are covering basic water safety skills, cues, holding techniques, and the basics of our swimming lessons where we break down activities from our first Babies & Toddlers level, setting you up for a seamless transition to our regular program. The entire 4-week program, including fantastic Little Toggs Happy Nappy, is just $40.00!

Babies & Toddlers

Our babies and toddlers classes are from 6 – 36 months and grouped by age. Each parent and child swim class has a maximum of 6 per class. Our program is specifically designed to enhance early development and strength using water resistance, movement and strength exercises.

In these classes you and your baby or toddler will learn water confidence and how to practice and develop life saving skills.

When prepared gently and consistently and with guidance from our teachers, babies and toddlers quickly learn the cues for going underwater – they will submerge comfortably and happily, swimming a short distance to their parent.

Learn to Swim

Our learn to swim classes are for two age groups: preschoolers and school age where students are learning swim strokes and water safety skills with children of similar age and ability. Each beginner’s level of learn to swim class has a maximum of 3 per class allowing for constant teacher attention and maximum practice time.

Our program is specifically designed to teach the foundation of becoming a competent swimmer through water safety skills.

Learn to swim classes are based on our belief that more repetitions, over a shorter distance, with good technique and constant correction is the right way to teach swimming. Your preschooler or school age child will flourish in an intimate and fun learning environment, building a solid foundation to grow into a confident swimmer.

Stroke Development

Our stroke development program is ability based and builds on the skills developed in earlier stages of babies and toddlers, and learn to swim classes. Each stroke development class has a maximum of 4 per class allowing for focus on further developing correct technique in all strokes while still building on water safety skills.

Our smaller classes allow for our teachers’ constant attention and maximum practice time for each child, providing the basis for progression into the Squad program.
